Have I got a treat for you! I’m thrilled to share Elizabeth and Harry’s summer wedding at Roche Harbor Resort on San Juan Island. As a local Seattle wedding photographer, it was extra special taking the ferry from Anacortes to the San Juan Island. As Elizabeth said to me when we first met, “It’s like in Grey’s Anatomy”! I knew away she was my kind of girl.

Elizabeth and Harry are native Texans, but Elizabeth’s uncle lives in the San Juans and she’s had the pleasure so spending many family vacations there. When they were planning their wedding, they knew it was a great excuse to share this very special place with those they loved. Roche Harbor Resort was the perfect place for their wedding, with it’s proximity to the harbor, the beautiful gardens, and all-around great service!

To make it even more special, I had the pleasure of working with the lovely Holly Olsen of Perfectly Posh Events on this wedding. Holly and I go way back. She’s seen me grow my photography business and I’ve seen her grow her wedding planning business. It made the weekend even more special!

Roche Harbor Wedding Ceremony

Roche Harbor Resort was definitely showing off this glorious July day. Not only was the sun shining, but there were so many flowers in bloom around the property. It was the perfect elegant setting for Elizabeth and Harry’s vows!

There are two garden areas on the property and this particular one made a beautiful setting of this full garden terrace full of greenery and florals. Leah of Blooms San Juan outdid herself! So many favorite moments here! One was the smiling exchange that Elizabeth and her father shared as they started their walk down the aisle. The other is Elizabeth and Harry’s sweet exit (I mean, their cheerful faces say it all!) and them sharing a tender moment right after.

Even though I had some time for portraits during their first look, it’s always a treat to take the couple away during their reception to enjoy a quiet moment and get some stunning sunset photos. I love how relaxed they both are here, after the busy-ness and the nervousness of the day has passed. They are officially husband and wife and they can just ENJOY each other!
